Then top with onions (or whatever) and finish with another slice of grilled bread (just a touch of butter). Oh Man! Now I am Hungry! Karla?, I'm cooking TONIGHT! YUM! These rings are heavier duty than some of the others I have purchased. Some of the ones I bought in years past did not last long. These don't get bent out of shape as easily and they do well in the dishwasher (although I often hand wash them, my wife doesn't). I find four inches to a be a suitable diameter for egg sandwiches. This depends on the bread one chooses for the sandwich. Unfortunately, an egg ring is what it is. If not used properly, eggs will leak underneath or cling to the ring. And the egg ring is one more dish to wash.If one must use an egg ring, I imagine the ideal egg ring would be seamless, and fabricated from an easily-cleaned material like titanium or cast iron. Such would be costly to manufacture, and esoteric, which probably explains why nobody makes egg rings this way. For individual servings, I forgo egg rings and use a miniature Lodge Logic cast iron pan. Admittedly, this not a perfect solution either. I find the 6.5 inch diameter of my pan excessive when cooking only one egg. |
